Although I'm not a top tier player, I've been around some really fantastic ones! (TalonX, Magnetic Man, etc) They've all told me that great swords are the best for me since I'm a destroyer. I also carry a pole arm to ensure I get a second whirlwind. I feel as though the second whirlwind is important for kiting away from other melee, as well as getting guaranteed hits from time to time. I noticed that bows were not an option here and that's probably just an oversight on the OP's part. They're absolutely key for landing damage on those who are great at creating space between their opponents. Oh and who could forget, they stop that pesky parrying!
